As a parent — and someone who has worked in the school field, especially in technology — I understand how challenging it can be to find the information you need. Between school websites, social media pages, calendars, and apps, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

That’s why I created the Tri-State Parent Portal — a centralized hub to help families quickly access the most important school-related resources all in one place.

Right now, the site focuses on schools in Lawrence County, Ohio, but this is just the beginning.

Our mission: To make school information easier to access by organizing everything parents need into one convenient, easy-to-use website.

As time goes on, I plan to expand this site to include more schools across Kentucky and West Virginia, continuing the goal of serving families throughout the Tri-State area.

• It’s two full weeks – August 1 - August 14, 2025

• The holiday will allow families to make tax-free purchases in-person or online on eligible items up to $500

• Examples of tax exempt items include electronics, clothes, home goods, dine-in food, dietary supplements, pet food, toys, school and office supplies, sports equipment, luggage, musical instruments, personal care products, and soft drinks

• Anything under $500 is eligible, EXCEPT for watercraft, outboard motors, motor vehicles, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapor products or marijuana products.

• Clothing & footwear $125 or less

• School supplies $50 or less

• Instructional materials $20 or less

• Laptops/tablets $500 or less
